Anderson Dean Aquatic Center

The Anderson Dean Park Aquatic Center includes an outdoor pool with two diving boards, kiddie pool, water slide, playground and has a zero depth entrance for those who need to ease in.

Anderson Dean Community Park has fun for the whole family with baseball, soccer & football fields; basketball, sand volleyball & tennis courts; a skate park, inclusive playgrounds & water park.

Big Red Stables Bunk House

Big Red Stables is located on a third generation, family-owned farm in the heart of the Bluegrass. For more than 30 years, we welcome horse enthusiasts and beginners  to experience trail riding. 

Big Springs Park & Trail


James Harrod and a band of almost 40 men founded the first permanent settlement in Kentucky on this site on June 16, 1774.  The spring was restored as a park and walking trail in 2017. 

Black Watch Alpalcas

We welcome visitors to our farm to learn about Alpacas, visit our  little shop and get a free finger puppet.  Family owned and operated since 2014 Black Watch Alpacas is a family destination.

Our Blue Water Trails articles describes each trip, relates the available sport fish species and their haunts as well as how to catch them. A printable map accompanies each article showing the location of access points and the distances of each float.

Perfect for younger players, beginner golfers or quests who want to challenge their iron game. Our Par 3 course is a short, walking course, just 649 yards.  This course is equipped with lights, so players can enjoy it long after the sun has gone down.

Bright Leaf Golf Resort offers the best in equipment and apparel. Stop by our fully-stocked Pro Shop before or after your round and browse. Our friendly staff will help you make start times, rent golf carts and register you and your guests before each round of golf. 

Cane Run Marina & RV Park

The best kept secret on Lake Lake Herrington. Enjoy its quiet coves and scenic views of Herrington with canoe rentals, boat launch, slip rentals, fishing and more for a lazy day at the lake.

Cedar Hills Pay Lake

Eagles Nest Equestrian Trails in Harrodsburg provides opportunities for great trail riding. With a 30 mile trail system, there is plenty to see while on your ride.  Please note horses are not provided.

Old Fort Harrod State Park

Old Fort Harrod features a full play gound in the back of the park, plus a unique opportunity for kids to climb and play on the Osage Orange tree by park’s front entrance.

Public Fishing

Here you’ll discover hard-fighting smallmouth bass, striped bass, blue catfish, shellcrackers, muskellunge, crappie and more. You can catch three species move your boat and catch largemouth bass, walleye and spotted bass.

Scenic Waterfalls

Shaker Landing provides one of the few public access points to the sweeping Kentucky River Palisades, with trails leading to scenic waterfalls along the river’s tributaries.
